That was a good effort on my end. One whole day.

Food Diary isn't gonna work. We're just gonna have to think of something else.

Cholesterol Problems: Day 1

Goshdarnit, just got my blood test results back from my doctor. Guess what? I still have high cholesterol. But going from 276 to 206 is pretty good in my cookbook! The doctor says I need to be on a "low-carb" diet, so welcome to my food diary! I'll get my cholesterol checked in 30 days to see if my technique works. Wish me luck!

Here's how I think I will lower my cholesterol.
1. Limit my carb intake.
2. Try to not eat carbs after 7pm, and try to not eat anything after 8pm.
3. Try to eat salad/fruits as much as possible.
4. Drink water whenever you feel hungry. (minimum 4 bottles a day)
5. Work out!!!!!!!!
6. Sleep early. This will lower your chances of eating at night.

Lunch: Salad. Red bell peppers. Green Bell peppers. Mushrooms. Peas. Pico de gallo. Salsa as dressing. 4 croutons.

Get me through the day snack: Mocha Frappacinno (there can't be that many carbs in this. It's mostly ice!)

Well, lets not talk about about what I had for dinner. It was a really good attempt though. I'll try harder tomorrow.

NAM: Noodles And More

If you haven't been yet,
then you need to go to NAM: Noodles and More!

It's located in Rice village and you can find the family business on the intersection of Rice and Kirby. My family's restaurant serves authentic Vietnamese food with large portions. If you are from the area, then you know that you have to either drive to Chinatown or Downtown to get a descent Vietnamese Meal. Oh, you say you are feeling lazy and don't want to drive to Kirby? Well, guess what? We deliver in a 3 mile radius. Or maybe you just want some take out for dinner on a Friday Night? Then give us a call and we can have your order ready for pick-up.

NAM provides the best quick, healthy, authentic South East Asian Noodles & More for all, in a fun contemporary, green conscious environment with friendly and knowledgeable service.

This is our third week opened and we are all so excited. So please, stop by if you haven't already & show your support by enjoying some tasty food!

Countdown to Graduation

The days are dwindling down and we just can't seem to concentrate anymore. We are hyped up on coffee as our work slowly piles up. But what do we do instead? We dance with Beyonce.

Hope you are procrastinating as much as we are!

Love Is a Four Letter Word

Let me just say that I have been OBSESSED with the new
Jason Mraz
CD.

I have loved this man for such a long time and I am pretty convinced I will marry him if he ever lets me meet him. Personally, my favorite song on his new album is "Freedom Song." I really like how he incorporates the jazzy band into the song. I have been at his concerts before and the concert felt like a jam session where the entire audience was a part of the session. Everyone was so in sync. His trumpets and trombone players were amazing... I can still replay the concert in my mind. So when I heard "Freedom Song" for the first time, I was able to recapture this exciting experience. If you haven't checked it out yet, you have got to do so. Like now. Delicious and Inspirational.

Jiro Dreams of Sushi is now one of my favorite documentaries!
The simplicity of the movie is what made it so great -- just like Jiro's sushi.

My favorite quote from Jiro and perhaps something I recently learned this semester is:

"Just because you follow the rules doesn't mean you will succeed."

I am joining the circus...

You want to know what I did today?

I was swinging around on a trapeze. Today I had a one hour lesson on how to do the basics and the teachers were incredibly patient! I had so much fun.

The adrenaline built up as I climbed up the very tall ladder. I then had to jump and do my newly learned stunts (don't worry, I was strapped in). I think I did pretty alright for my first lesson, and I would definitely return to improve my trapeze skills. This is definitely something I am going to add to the special skills section of my resume. I would put this as the second most exciting thing I have done (skydiving is number 1). I hope you all have a happy and joyful Easter break!

Well, I know you are curious about my skills. So here is my circus audition tape! Enjoy!
